My name is Faina Stoliar Ben-David and I’m a clinical social worker (MSW, RSW) specializing in individual and trauma counselling for adults in North York and Thornhill. For over 20 years, I’ve helped clients work through their challenges and develop practical coping strategies to live a rich and meaningful life.

You’ll realize soon after meeting me that I’m a problem solver at heart! While my practice is rooted in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I draw on a variety of therapeutic methods including mindfulness, solution-focused therapy and trauma-informed therapy depending on my clients’ needs. I’m also licensed in hypnotherapy.

My approach is results-oriented but never rushed. I’m committed to providing a safe and warm environment for you to confide in your struggles and access the support you need. Life is like a puzzle and I approach each session with the goal of helping you fit the pieces together so you can find balance, fulfillment and joy.

Individuals who come to see me are often grappling with anxiety, depression, grief, bereavement and relationship distress. I work with clients at their own pace to manage and move beyond their challenges. I also provide trauma counselling to survivors of violence, abuse and neglect as well as first responders.

I received my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and am a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). 

Outside of work you can find me enjoying time with my children. I enjoy painting, crafting, being outdoors, travelling and reading spy novels.
